Mistra Urban Futures (MUF) addresses one of today’s key societal challenges: How can sustainable urban development be achieved within our planet’s boundaries? Project vision is to achieve sustainable urbanisation where cities are accessible, green and fair. Mission is to generate and use knowledge for transitions towards sustainable urban futures through reflective co-creation at local and global levels.
Intersection actively participates at the Kopaonik Business Forum 2018
Intersection actively participates at the biggest regional forum of economy and development, the Kopaonik Business Forum 2018, known also as “Serbian Davos”. Aleksandra Drecun, the President of Intersection, discussed with the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Šarčević, the President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts Vladimir Kostić, and the Rector of the University of Belgrade Vladimir Bumbaširević, the future of Education and Science Policy in Serbia.
Intersection participates in the Working Group for new draft Law on Scientific Research
Aleksandra Drecun, the President of Intersection, will be the member of the group, nominated by the Minister for Education, Science and Technological Development. The task of the Group is to prepare a new framework for scientific research in line with the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of Serbia (2016-2020) and the Action Plan for its implementation, with the focus on the new model of research funding and establishment of a competitive procedure based on excellence and wider societal impact of research and innovation.
Intersection at EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) 2018
Aleksandra Drecun, the President of Intersection, will participate at two panel discussions at the Science Program of EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse, France, the biggest European open forum on science and innovation. Moreover, Intersection participates in the Final debate under the DEBATE SCIENCE! European Student Parliaments project with five young finalists from Serbia that will, together with the selected finalists from all over Europe, discuss the most relevant scientific topics of today.
Our project “DEBATE SCIENCE! European Student Parliaments” is selected for funding by the EC
DEBATE SCIENCE! European Student Parliaments project is for the third time coordinated by Intersection in Serbia. This successful project aimed at promoting evidence based policies and involvement of young people in democratic processes is recognized by the European institutions and selected for funding by the EC DG R&I H2020 program.
Public consultation on EU funds
Time has come again to join forces to gather common stand points and arguments to feed into the “Public consultation on EU funds in the area of investment, research & innovation, SMEs and single market” as well as to forthcoming consultations and negotiations regarding FP9. The event was organised by SiS.net2, and our friends at the Swedish National Advocacy Platform for SwafS.

Intersection participated at H2020 SwafS meeting in Brussels, organized by the European Commission. We met with colleagues from all over Europe interested in responsible research and innovation projects and agreed on future consortia.

Aleksandra Drecun gave a lecture on Gender and Research, with the focus on gendered innovations, at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
