Intersection’s VP, Divna Vučković, is participating in the NUCLEUS project meeting in Bochum, Germany, on November 21st and 22nd 2016, in cooperation with Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The aim of the meeting is to lay the Foundations for successful NUCLEI, defining the related activities in the next two years of the project.
European Foundations declared the winners of the Responsible Research and Innovation Awards on 21st November 2016 in Brussels. We are extremely proud that a member of our Advisory Board, Jan Riise from Mistra Urban Futures at Swedish Chalmers University of Technology, is one of the winners of this prestigious award for the project “Co-creation of knowledge for sustainable urban development”. Congratulations!
Aleksandra Drecun, the President of Intersection, and Dr. Sonia Ortega, Head of the US National Science Foundation (NSF) for EurAsia, jointly prepare the framework for the widening of research and innovation collaboration between Serbia and the USA.
Looking forward to participating at the RRI Tools Final Conference and Ceremony of the European Foundations Award for Responsible Research and Innovation, Brussels, November 21st – 22nd, 2016. “RRI TOOLS” is an EC FP7 project in which the INTERSECTION members had created the South East European RRI Hub.

For the second year in a row, Intersection happily invites all high school students, aged 16 to 19, who are interested in science and learning about parliamentary procedures and debates, to join us on 7th of November 2016 from 14h to 16h at the Mathematical Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Belgrade, Knez Mihailova 36, in the conference room at the 1st floor, where we will present the structure of the European Student Parliament project to be held during 2017&2018.

Intersection’s president Aleksandra Drecun participated at “Shift GEAR – Mainstreaming gender equality into academic and research organisations” Conference in Brussels. This high level event brought together around 170 stakeholders and decision makers in socio-economic and research policies to reflect on the situation of women and men in academic and research organisations.
We look forward to participating at the H2020 NUCLEUS project annual consortium conference taking place in Lyon, France, 12th-14th of October 2016. The conference will put in motion the development of RRI Roadmap strategies to be implemented in 30 NUCLEI sites in 2017, thus approaching the project objective of overcoming institutional barriers to Responsible Research and Innovation.
Intersection participated in the combined Governing board and Gender Experts Board meeting of Genera H2020 project in Bucharest, Romania on 10th and 11th of October 2016. GENERA aims to continue, monitor and improve Gender Equality Plans of research institutions and organizations, specifically in the physics research field, and Intersection is the contact point for this project in the SEE region.
